Last night it snowed so heavily that many parts of the highway were closed/blocked by vehicles sliding around...my husband and I were forced to stay at my parent's house, which looked quite cozy, I think!
Used: 5DMKII, 50mm f/1.8

Indeed. But the bokeh would be lost, and the shutter speed would have to be slowed down to accomodate the smaller aperture, which would cause the snow to streak and look like rain :heart:

hmm, maybe shooting two images at different shutter speed might have helped, you know, overblending them with software, one for the snow effect, one for the sharpness of the background.

But that's just nitpicking, still an awesome shot.
